Cats’ sudden death without Symptoms?

Cats’ sudden death without symptoms is a very scary thing and you should pay more attention and try your best to take good care of the cat’s life.

There are few possible causes of sudden cat death and effectively prevent cat sudden death;

1. Cats’ sudden death due to the virus infection

Feline panleukopenia, also known as feline distemper or feline infectious enteritis, is an acute and highly contagious infectious disease of cats, mustelids, and raccoons caused by the feline panleukopenia virus (FPV).

Sudden high fever, vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, and leukopenia in the circulating bloodstream characterize the clinical manifestations, and death may strike within a few days.

Unvaccinated domestic cats are primarily at risk for infections, particularly before undergoing surgery.

Infection can affect cats of all ages, but kittens under the age of 1 are especially vulnerable. In these cases, the infection rate may reach 70%, while the mortality rate can be as high as 90%, usually hovering between 50% and 60%.

Infections in adult cats may go unnoticed, so it is important to prioritize preventative measures like vaccinations as early as possible.

2. Cerebral or Myocardial infarction in cats

Cats die due to arteriosclerosis, which can cause blockage of blood vessels in the brain or arteries in the heart. The cause of arteriosclerosis is the high neutral fat or cholesterol in the blood.

Although cats have a low probability of arteriosclerosis, it is best to do regular health checks and follow-ups every year especially for senior cats.

Although cats have an excellent sense of balance, they can sometimes miss out.

If you fall from a height and hit your head, it is likely to cause internal injuries such as a brain hematoma.

Even if it does not seem to be serious at the moment, the cat may die suddenly in a few days. If the cat is hit hard or falls from a height, it is best to go to the veterinary clinic for an examination.

3. Poisoning or Allergy caused by eating

Cats can have allergies just like people, whether it’s food or something in the environment. If you accidentally eat or encounter allergens, it may even be fatal in severe cases.

In addition, some things are poisonous to cats, such as lilies, essential oils, and incense.

Cats have a special liver structure and cannot metabolize and detoxify. Therefore, you should do homework to understand what may cause cat poisoning

 4. Heartworm Parasitism

Cat heartworm parasites can be found in the heart and pulmonary arteries. The dead worms will block the blood vessels, causing severe allergic reactions in cats.

The fatality rate of cat heartworm is extremely high because their body size is smaller than a dog on average and it may cause the death of a cat without too many worms.

Mosquitoes transmit heartworm, so it is important to regularly practice home hygiene to reduce the risk of cats being bitten by mosquitoes.

5. The Stress and Pressure

Although stress is not a direct cause of cat death it may cause other diseases such as heart disease which can cause sudden death.

Especially when the cat’s immunity is low (for example, just after ligation), it is even more important not to put unnecessary pressure on the cat, so as to avoid the cat’s body being unable to bear the burden and causing sudden death, which is regrettable.

To a certain extent, stress also reflects the behavior of cats.

For example, Stress causes cats to jump around for no reason and suddenly appear to be in good spirits, which can make them neurotic.
