Cats are afraid of Smells

Cats are afraid of smells, and most afraid of irritating odors. Especially lemons and oranges are the smells cats are most afraid of. Scared of hair dryers, vinegar and water. Cats are afraid of pungent odors such as orange peel, lemon and dew. 

The smell of onions, ginger, garlic, green peppers, persimmon peppers, and onions is what cats hate the most. There are also cats who are very sensitive to the smell of many fruits and vegetables and even plants. Cats can’t stand the smell of bananas, coconut milk. 

In addition, there is the smell of chemicals such as gasoline, alcohol, paint, pesticides, etc. Some animals with a very sensitive sense of smell cannot tolerate the smell of air fresheners.

Citrus

Citrus such as oranges, tangerines, grapefruits, lemons, etc. The sour smell inside does irritate cats, especially the peel, so many cat repellents are also made with a citrus scent. We can also use these fruits for juicing or grate the peel and spray where needed, which can keep cats away which is eco-friendly and effective.

Detergent or Sanitizer

Cats are also very afraid of the smell of detergent. The smell of sanitizer can also be very uncomfortable for cats, but this can be used to keep cats from messing up. There are also some insecticides, mothballs, mint-flavored toothpaste, safflower oil, etc., and try to avoid letting the cat smell it.

Be aware that there are other flavors that cats don’t like, like insecticides, strong scents, camphor, iron, antiperspirant, mint, and cats hate these too. When cats smell these smells, they will run away and even sneeze. 

Pungent Odor

Spicy, pungent odors can also frighten cats. For example, cats are frightened by strong odors like garlic, ginger, green pepper, bell pepper, and chili. You can put garlic and chili water out of the cat’s reach.
